Srinagar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary (Organisation) Ashok Kaul on Thursday said that Hyderpora like incidents should not have taken place, while highlighting that a Commission has been formed to investigate the incident.
“ I believe this type of incident should not have happened,” Kaul said during a news conference here. “ Now the commission by the government has been formed and those found guilty will have to face action,”
It may be mentioned that in the Hyderpora encounter last week, four persons including
two businessmen were killed. The incident had sparked outrage and leaders cutting across party lines have sought an impartial inquiry into the incident.
BJP General Secretary said that “several elements were provoking the people at international level after such incidents”. “At the same time we have firm belief that our government will tackle this,” Kaul said.
Koul said that since 1953, BJP was of the opinion that Article 370 should be scrapped. “ Shama Prasad Mukerjee has sacrificed his life and since then we wanted its abrogation,” he said adding that “those who see its revocation are day dreaming”. “ It has gone down the well now and people have accepted the fact,” Kaul said.
Kaul said that party can now boast of having supporters and members living across length and breadth of UT. “More and more people are getting associated with BJP as they are convinced by the policies and programmes of Narendra Modi-led Government at the centre”, Kaul said. He said that various cells of the party were “doing a commendable job in projecting party’s policies at different levels”.
The senior BJP leader reiterated that statehood will be restored to J&K as it has been promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister, Amit Shah on the floor of the Parliament. “ We are sure after delimitation exercise things will move further,” Kaul said.
Commenting on the party programmes, Kaul said: “These district level meetings are taking place and these will be completed by December 6. After that meetings for 83 constituencies will take. We have chalked out a plan for coming three months and during the meeting we deliberated what we did for previous three months,” Kaul said, adding that BJP J&K president Ravinder Raina was also visiting Kashmir.
Kaul said he also attended a district working committee meeting at Dak Banglow Anantnag on Thursday. “ Touched upon the various landmark initiatives, decisions and work done by the Modi government in different sectors. Have also set targets to further strengthen the organisational structure,” Kaul wrote on Twitter.
