In 1 month, G’bl COVID19 control room receives 250 distress calls

The authorities on Saturday said that the COVID-19 control room set up by district administration Ganderbal has received over 250 distress calls during last one month since its establishment here.

The control room was set up in the district on the directions of deputy commissioner (DC) Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal to redress the grievances of people.

   

Tehsildar headquarters Ganderbal Shoket Ahmed Rather who was appointed as nodal officer incharge of the control room informed, “So far we have received over 250 calls from different areas including some parts of the country regarding COVID-19 related issues including distress calls.”

“Our control room also receives “distress” calls fromoutside J&K, adding that sometimes calls come from Kashmiri residents stuckoutside and relatives of non-local people trapped here” the official toldGreater Kashmir.

He said that out of total calls received nearly 220 wereforwarded to concerned for their timely redressal.

DC GanderbalShafqat Iqbal also chaired a meeting today toassess the arrangements put in place to tackle the spread of COVID-19 indistrict.

The DC sought the coordination among all constituted teamsand urged for real time sharing of information with COVID-19 District ControlRoom.

He urged that caller information should be shared with theconcerned administrator so that real time appropriate action is taken.

Meanwhile, District Administration Ganderbal also launched aweb based grievance redressal system for the local public of the district toredress their grievances related to the COVID-19 and situations arising due thelockdown.

DC Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, while inaugurating the onlinegrievance redressal system said that the administration is putting every effortfor the convenience of general public of district Ganderbal and the web basedgrievance redressal system is one such effort.

For the redressal of grievance, the applicant has to registerhis/her grievance simply by visiting district administration’s websitewww.ganderbal.nic.in/grievance. Few details like Name, E-mail Address,Parentage, Address, Mobile Number and type of grievance need to be filled toregister the grievance. The response/reply of the grievance submitted shall besent on the same email address provided by the applicant at the time of filingthe grievance.
