In Sopore, people vote for development

Aaqib Sultan, a voter standing outside a polling station in Sopore said that people of his area were coming out to vote as they did not want to suffer more in terms of development.

“We don’t have a permanent dumping site and other basic necessities of life,” he said.

   

Another voter Muhammad Ashraf Malik, 60, after casting his vote at Chinkipora Sopore said the area had been facing hardships for decades in absence of basic necessities like roads, electricity and drinking water.

Others said they had come out to vote saying, “Our existence is under threat and we can’t leave the field open for the BJP in Kashmir.”

A group of voters outside a polling station in Sopore said, “Our vote is for the restoration of all the articles abrogated by the BJP-lead government at New Delhi.”
