IS ANYBODY LISTENING ?

Install signboards

The two busiest routes stretching from Srinagar to Chadoora and Budgam to Chadoora are left in no man’s land as there is not even a single sign board installed all along the stretches. It adds to ones confusion and agony. Authorities not installing the sign boards on these vital roads depicts their lackadaisical attitude. Signboards play a pivotal role in understanding and locating the landmarks, locations and distances. Finally I request the R&B department and concerned authorities to look into the matter at the earliest so that people don’t suffer.

Daily rated workers of Animal Husbandry deptt seek Governor’s intervention

We the daily rated workers of Animal Husbandry Department would like to draw your kind attention towards our sad plight arising out of sudden stoppage of disbursement of wages to us from February, 2018.

Sir, we were being paid Rs4300/month, from much below the wages prescribed @ Rs225/day under minimum wages act.  And now even this has been stopped pushing us in to a miserable situation. As a consequence even shopkeepers have stopped supplying us essentials on credit as we are utterly disabled to pay debts.

So far we have rendered uninterrupted services in farms, offices, labs and stores etc ranging from 05-8 1/2 years and we are not eligible for regularisation under newly introduced scheme.

We urge Governor N N Vohra  to issue suitable instructions to the Finance Department in the matter so that our sufferings are mitigated.

Clear encroachments

Residents of 10,000 households existing on the sides of main road from Hawal to Nigeen the tourist area are facing lot of difficulties in absence of public transport facilities. Despite our repeated requests authorities have not done anything. The road from Zahidpora to Jogiwon, Amdakadal has been encroached by miscreants as they have built slums along the road. It has reduced the breadth of the road to just 8 feet. The matter was brought to the notice of SMC but they did nothing. It seems that the authorities concerned are in deep slumber.

Transformer goes missing

Around two decades ago old electrical transformer was installed adjacent to the main gate of Old Khadi Mill in Shah Faisal Abad Batamaloo. During all these years this transformer developed many technical snags resulting in power disruption. On Sunday, the 8th of July 2018 the said transformer again developed a fault. Astoundingly the field staff of the Power Development Department (PDD) said transformer could not be traced. They didn’t explain the reasons for the transformer going missing.

The inhabitants of the area have since long been chasing the concerned authorities of the department through print and electronic media to fend this long pending trouble by replacing the existing transformer with a fresh one of high input capacity. But their struggle till now could not yield positive results.

We humbly request the concerned authorities to replace the existing decades old transformer with a fresh high input capacity transformer to ward off the power disruption trouble permanently.

Potholes galore at Alamdar Colony A1 Illahibagh

We the residents of Alamdar Colony A1, near Green Valley School, Illahibagh Buchpora demand urgent intervention of PWD department to look into our long pending issue of massive potholes and damaged road.

Even SMC Srinagar has turned mute to our woes. It gets worse once rains starts pouring and water logging is massive in this colony.

Shahpora residents demand footbridge

We the residents of Shahpora, Wathora, want to bring into the notice of concerned authorities that we have a playground of almost 5 hectares (100 kanals), which is without a footbridge for almost 40 years now. The residents however have managed to prepare a footbridge on their own but every time the water level rises up it gets flown away. This playground is the largest in the whole Budgam district where players like Manzoor Pandav and other star players have played. We appeal the concerned authorities to provide a footbridge for the safety and convenience of locals.

Clear muck, silt from Kralpora road

After many years  Irrigation Department undertook desilting of Kralpora Irrigation canal (Kralpora Kul) during the month of Ramadhan this year. All the silt and muck which was extracted from the canal was kept on the roadside by the contractor and for many days it was not lifted. After intervention of locals the muck / silt was uploaded into tippers by JCBs but without clearing the road  completely. In-fact at Kralpora Bazar the silt / solid waste are still lying on road-side, which is emitting pungent smell.

There is lot of dust and road has become muddy during rains at several places right from Mochwa to Kralpora. In addition to it the canal is yet to be cleared of muck , silt and other kind of trash from Kralpora to Wathoora via Gopalpora. We appeal Chief Engineer Irrigation & Flood Control to intervene and clear the muck.
