Militant killed in Srinagar gunfight identified

Srinagar, Nov 12: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday identified the militant killed in a gunfight last night in Bemina area of Srinagar as Aamir Riyaz of Khrew.

A police spokesman said that Riyaz was affiliated with the Ghazwat-ul-Hind outfit and was related to one of the accused in the 2019 Pulwama car bombing.

Riyaz, as per an official, was killed in a brief gunfight with the security forces in Bemina area of the city last night. An AK-47 rifle was recovered from his possession, he said.
