Srinagar, Nov 26: National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah Friday visited Banihal on the first leg of his eight-day tour to Chenab Valley.
A statement of NC issued here said that he was given a rousing welcome at Banihal by NC’s Ramban district functionaries.
Abdullah, who is accompanied by his Political Advisor Tanvir Sadiq, was received by District President Ramban Sajad Shaheen, Youth National Conference (YNC) Provincial President Aijaz Jan, and scores of other party and YNC functionaries.
Later, he presided over a meeting of working committee members of district Ramban.
During the meeting, the party’s local unit functionaries apprised him about the various political activities of the party in the district.
The interaction was also marked by a wide-ranging discussion on the development scenario in the region and a plethora of other issues concerning the people.
