Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday refuted the rumours suggesting that a gunfight is underway in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
“This refers to the news reports circulated on social media wherein it is being rumored that encounter has started in Koil area of Pulwama. In this regard it is clarified that no encounter is going on in South Kashmir and such new reports are false,” said a spokesman, in a statement.
He said this unverifiable news report is strongly rebutted.
“Action will be warranted against such social media users who are creating panic among general masses,” he said.
