SKUAST thanks agriculture minister, police authorities in securing release of student in Bhopal

SKUAST administration has issued a statement to thank the agriculture minister and police authorities for securing the release of a student of the varsity who was detained in Bhopal.

Prof. Nazeer Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir places on record its appreciation and greatfulness to Jenab Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture, J&K State, Jenab Dr. S.P. Vaid, Director General of Police, J&K, Shri. Muneer Ahmed Khan, Additional Director General of Police, J&K, Shri. Ghulam Hassan Bhat, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Central Kashmir, J&K for their personal and sincere efforts in taking quick initiative in ensuring the release of Mr. Idrees, B.Tech student who was one among the students on-board in a train from Bhopal to Delhi.

The University is equally thankful for whole hearted support provided at Bhopal by Director General of Police, Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Nawab Ali, Ex-Deputy Director General, Engineering ICAR, Dr. P.C. Barghle, Principal Scientist, CIAE, Bhopal, Shri. Soni, Advocate who represented the student in the court in seeking bail and especially to local resident Mr. Mohd. Talha.  

University had deputed 24 B.Tech. students comprising nine boys and 15 girls for compulsory in-plant training to different industrial units and institutions in Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. 

Mr. Idrees, B.Tech. student of this University was released yesterday on bail who is now appearing in GATE examination scheduled for tomorrow at New Delhi. Thereafter, he will be joining other students who are all well and shall be proceeding further to Hissar, Haryana for completion of their remaining part of one month in-plant training at Farm Machinery Testing Centre, Government of India, Hissar.
