Army on Thursday refuted the media reports regarding the death of a soldier in a gunfight with the government forces in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A Srinagar-based army spokesman said that the soldier wounded in a gunfight with the forces in Tral is under treatment.
“News in some sections of the media of a soldier being killed is incorrect,” he said.
Three soldiers were injured in a gunfight with the forces in Gulshanpora area of Tral that left three militants dead.
Earlier, news agency GNS had reported that one of the critically injured soldiers was shifted to army hospital in Udhampur where he succumbed.
