Teenage girl injured during Jan 24 Shopian gunfight dies

A teenage girl injured during a gunfight between militants and government forces on January 24 in Chaigund villlage of south Kashmir’s Shopian district succumbed on Saturday night at SKIMS Soura. 

Sources said that the girl, Saima Wani (18), daughter of Hilal Ahmad Wani, who was shifted to general ward yesterday succumbed today.

   

Saima died today after battling for life for eighteen days at the facility.

On January 24, two militants and a civilian were killed in a gunfight in Chaigund village. Two girls, including Saima Wani, were injured during the gunfight.

Saima was a sister of militant Sameer Wani who was also killed during the gunfight.
