Tujjar voters hope local candidate will solve local problems

Among hundreds of voters lined up to exercise their franchise in Tujjar Block of Sopore of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, there was a single hope that this time a local candidate will resolve local problems.

After casting his vote a 50 year old man Abdul Rashid Dar from Lattishat Nowpora said that he had cast his vote only for development of his village, “Our locality is facing tremendous hardships as it has been ignored by all the outside representatives so far. Our locality sans each and everything including basic necessities like water, electricity and proper road connectivity,” said Abdul Rashid Dar.

   

Similarly, a 60 year old female voter Hajra Begum from Wadoora Bala after casting her vote at government middle school Wadoora Bala also spoke about the developmental deficit they have been facing since decades. She said that we have decided to choose a local candidate this time so that we can see development on ground level as compared to those non local representatives who we voted to power with majority but did nothing for the welfare of people.

According to official data 22.64 per cent turnout has been reported in Tujjar block of Sopore. Out of total 34581 votes, 7830 voters casted their votes and among them 4338 are male and 3492 females.
