Will peacefully fight for rights of people: Omar Abdullah

Srinagar, Nov 22: National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah Monday vowed to fight for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir using all peaceful means.

A statement of NC issued here said that presiding over the party’s Srinagar District Committee meeting at the Nawa-e-Subha headquarters in Srinagar, Abdullah said, “We will continue with our struggle to see our rights restored, constitutionally, legally and politically.”

   

He said that NC was ready to take on all challenges facing the people of J&K.

The meeting was attended by NC General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Mubarak Gul, Irfan Shah, Ali Muhammad Dar, Muhammad Syed Akhoon, Sabiya Qadri, Ahsan Pardesi, Peer Afaq, Salman Sagar, J S Azad, Ghulam Nabi Wani Tailbali, Sarah Hayat Shah, Ifra Jan, Ghulam Nabi Bhat, Qaiser Jalali, block presidents, and party’s district unit functionaries.

During the meeting, the NC functionaries apprised Abdullah about the ongoing political activities of the party in district Srinagar.

During the meeting, issues regarding party affairs and the prevailing political situation in the district were discussed.

Later, Abdullah welcomed a social activist from Tral, Sheikh Abdul Rashid into the party fold.

NC Provincial President, Kashmir, Nasir Aslam Wani, District President Pulwama Ghulam Mohuiddin Mir, and Ghulam Nabi Bhat were also present on the occasion.
