8-year-old boy attacked by leopard in Budgam

Srinagar, March18: An 8-year-old boy was injured in a leopard attack on Monday in Budgam district.

Quoting officials, news agency KDC reported that a boy identified as Saqib Javid, resident of Samsun area of Khan Sahib in Budgam was injured after a leopard attacked him.

   

The officials from Wildlife Department are trying to capture the wild beast alive, they said.

The boy, latest victim of the Human-Wildlife conflict was immediately shifted to district hospital Budgam, where his condition is stated to be stable.

The efforts are underway to ensure the well-being of residents while also addressing the broader issue of wildlife conservation and habitat management in Budgam and surrounding regions, an official said.

Pertinently, a nine-year-old girl was mauled to death, presumably by the same leopard in the area last Monday.
