J&K became part of India in 1947: Mehbooba Mufti

Rajouri, May 2:  Former Chief Minister and President of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , Mehbooba Mufti today said that Jammu and Kashmir became part of India in 1947 and it associated with India of Mahatma Gandhi .

She stated that the statement of BJP that it (J&K) became part of India after abrogation of Article 370 is baseless.

   

Mehbooba also accused National Conference of dividing people on the lines of casteism to garner votes in Lok Sabha polls from Anantnag- Rajouri parliamentary seat. She is campaigning in Rajouri and Poonch districti.  Mehbooba, who is the PDP candidate for Anantnag-Rajouri constituency addressed more than one dozen road shows in different areas of Rajouri including Bela road Rajouri, Palma, Nagrota, Kallar, Agrati, Keri, Lam, Jhangar and Nowshera.

“I am not asking people to vote on any religious or caste lines but I am asking for votes on the basis of work that government of PDP has done in Jammu and Kashmir,” Mehbooba Mufti said. She stated that PDP Government opened new education institutions including BGSB University Rajouri, SMVD University Katra besides development works on all fronts thereby addressing issues of people.

Mehbooba Mufti, however, accused National Conference of dividing people on the name of religious and caste lines.

“I am saddened to see that NC is trying to garner votes on the name of caste lines and by dividing people,” she said further adding that NC remains in Government for over 50 years but has nothing to say.

Mehbooba Mufti also criticised  BJP for “befooling people on multiple pretexts but has pushed Jammu and Kashmir in a concerned state with all resources are being snatched from  people and local population is being kept deprived of its rights that even include right to electricity generated in the region only.”

Referring to the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, Mehbooba Mufti said that BJP has befooled people in every possible manner.

“J&K became part of India in 1947 when it was India of Gandhian values but unfortunately, as per BJP, J&K became part of India after abrogation of Article 370 and 35(A) and this is a baseless thing,” she added.

Mehbooba Mufti while appealing people to vote in her favour promised to work for fulfillment of demand of railway link in Pir Panjal region besides abolishing of Agnipath scheme of Indian Army, New Pension Scheme.
