Srinagar, Apr 26: Awami Itihad Party (AIP) on Friday collected nomination form for its chief Er. Rashid, who is currently lodged in New Delhi’s Tihar jail.
AIP General Secretary Prince Parvez told media persons that the aim of visiting Office of Returning Officer Baramulla was to collect nomination form for party chief Er. Rashid, who is going to contest Lok Sabha election from north Kashmir.
He said a delegation of the party will visit Tihar Jail New Delhi to fulfill required formalities.
“The nomination form will be submitted by Monday hopefully,” he added.
Abdul Rashid Sheikh alias Engineer Rashid (56) is a former MLA, and was arrested in 2019 by National Investigation Agency under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
