Srinagar, Mar 28: Authorities on Thursday issued notification for the Jammu Lok Sabha seat which is going to polls on April 26.
A notification issued by District Magistrate Jammu which lies at Greater Kashmir states that “Nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or by any of his proposers to the Returning Officer (District Magistrate/Deputy Commissiner), Jammu or to Assistant Returning Officer, 76-Jammu East (Joint Commissioner (A), Jammu Municipal Corporation) Jammu at the office of the District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner, Wazarat Road, Jammu between 11:00 am and 03:00 pm on any day (other than public holiday) not later than 03:00 pm of 04th April, 2024”.
“Forms of nomination paper may be obtained at the place and times aforesaid”, it said.
It added that nomination paper will be taken up for scrutiny at 11:00 am on 06th April, 2024 at the office of the District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner, Wazarat Road, Jammu.
“Notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered either by a candidate or by any of his proposers or by his election agent who has been authorized in writing by the candidate to deliver it to either of the officers specified in paragraph (2) above at his office before 03:00 pm on 08th April, 2024”, notice reads.
It said that in the event of the election being contested, the poll will be taken on 26th April, 2024 between the hours of 07:00 am and 06:00 pm.
