New Delhi, Mar 20: In a tweet shared today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated President Putin on his re-election as the President of the Russian Federation, stating, “Spoke with President Putin and congratulated him on his re-election as the President of Russian Federation. We agreed to work together to further deepen and expand the India-Russia Special and Privileged strategic partnership in the years.”

Putin secured a landslide victory, garnering approximately 85 percent of the votes. This victory extends his rule over Russia until 2030, with little opposition seen during the election.

Russian President Vladimir V. Putin’s recent victory in the elections, securing 87 per cent of the vote, represents a massive increase from previous electoral outcomes.

The elections garnered significant global attention, particularly in light of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine spanning over two years. The West, along with the US, has extended support to Ukraine and imposed sanctions on Russia over various economic and trade matters, intensifying the geopolitical dynamics in the region.
