Udhampur among India’s top three districts in rural road construction: Dr. Jitendra Singh

Srinagar, Apr 02: Udhampur district in Jammu & Kashmir has achieved a significant milestone by emerging among the top three districts in India for rural road construction under the Central Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) scheme.

This achievement was highlighted by Union Minister and BJP candidate for Udhampur, Doda,  Kathua Dr. Jitendra Singh, who credited the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the district’s success.

   

Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized that Udhampur’s remarkable performance in rural road construction is a testament to the government’s commitment to prioritize infrastructure development in rural areas over the past decade. He commended the concerted efforts of various stakeholders, including government officials, local administration, and the community in realizing this achievement.

The Central PMGSY scheme, launched with the aim of providing all-weather road connectivity to unconnected habitations in rural areas, has played a pivotal role in transforming the infrastructure landscape of Udhampur district. The efficient implementation of the scheme has not only improved connectivity but also enhanced access to essential services and opportunities for socio-economic development in the region, Singh said.
