PM-SYM pension scheme launched across Kashmir Valley

The Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan (PM-SYMD) pensionscheme was Tuesday launched across various districts in Kashmir and Ladakhdivisions simultaneously after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched thescheme in the country.

SRINAGAR

   

District Development Commissioner Srinagar Shahid IqbalChaudhary launched the PM-SYM scheme at an impressive function at Srinagar.

Speaking on the occasion the DDC said that the pensionscheme will benefit a large number of workers in the unorganized sector andthis scheme ensures pension security to them.

The DDC, according to an official handout, impressed upondistrict officer for creating mass awareness among the people about the schemeto get maximum results.

BUDGAM

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Budgam, Khurshid AhmadShah launched the scheme at ceremony cum awareness programme at district levelheld at New Conference Hall, Budgam.

Urging unorganized workers to register themselves under thescheme, the ADC said that Budgam has been on the top by registering highestnumber of workers and distributing highest number of registration cards amongthe workers in Jammu and Kashmir so far.

He said that registration process is going on in full swingat 170 Common Service Centers, while as additional registration centers havebeen set at BDO offices in the district to ensure maximum registrations aredone on daily basis.

KULGAM

District Development Commissioner Kulgam Dr. Shamim AhmadWani launched the scheme at a function at Chawalgam Kulgam.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that the pensionscheme will go a long way in ensuring financial security to large number ofpeople engaged in unorganized sector. He said that the scheme will providesecurity not only to the workers but to their families too. He stressed on theneed to create mass awareness about this scheme so that a large number ofpeople get benefit from it.

ANANTNAG

District Development Commissioner Anantnag Khalid Jahangirlaunched the PM-SYM Yojana, at a function, here at Dak Bunglow KhannabalAnantnag.

Addressing the gathering, the DDC Anantnag stated thatfinancial empowerment of unorganised sector is the need of the hour so thatthey can also enjoy a dignified life at a later stage of life. He directed theLabour Department Anantnag to aware the general public about the benefits ofthe scheme by organising awareness programmes at block level.

SHOPIAN

The scheme was launched during a function organised byDistrict Employment and Counselling Centre Shopian in collaboration withDistrict Administration at Mini-Secretariat.

GANDERBAL

District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Hashmat AliKhan launched the mega pension scheme, PM-SYM Yojana, for workers in theunorganized sector here in an impressive function held at Conference Hall, MiniSecretariat Ganderbal.

Speaking on the occasion DDC said that primary objective ofthe scheme is to offer financial security to the people with no economic backupfacilities and will benefit a huge number of the workers in the unorganizedsector besides ensuring pension security to them.

KUPWARA 

Hundreds of participants from different sections of societyparticipated in the launch of PM-SYM

Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Farooq Ahmad Baba,Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bashir Ahmad, DTO, ALC, District Manager CSCJavid Maqbool were present on the occasion.

On the occasion ADC Kupwara also distributed the PM-SYMpension cards to select beneficiaries.

BANDIPORA

Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Tuesdayformally launched the PM-SYM, in Bandipora district after the Prime MinisterNarendra Modi launched the scheme in the country.

DC Bandipora urged the unorganised workers to enrollthemselves to avail the benefit  of thisscheme. He said the PM-SYM is  a megapension scheme for unorganised sector and is a voluntary and contributorypension scheme that will benefit as many as 10 thousand workers of the districtin the unorganised sector.

BARAMULLA

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo formally launchedPM-SYM scheme here at a grand function which marked the participation of a hugegathering of beneficiaries.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the schemeprovides social and economic security to the vulnerable sections of thesociety. He urged for availing the benefits of the scheme and impressed upondisseminating awareness so that more and more beneficiaries are brought intoits ambit.

Dr Itoo distributed registration cards among 30beneficiaries.

KARGIL

Executive Councillor for Social Welfare Aga Syed Mujtabalaunched PM-SYM pension scheme for unorganized workers at Video Conference Hallof District Informatics Centre Kargil.

Executive Councillor for Tourism and Zanskar Affairs ErPunchoq Tashi, Deputy Director Employment and Counseling Centre Kargil HajiMuhammad Baqir, Deputy District Election Officer Kargil Nargis Banoo, DistrictManager Common Service Centre (CSC) Mehboob Hussain besides several districtofficers were resent on the occasion.

PULWAMA

Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Chowdary MohammadYasin launched PM-SYM Scheme  in presenceof Assistant Director Employment and Counselling Centre, Pulwama here at IGSLassipora Pulwama.

Speaking on the occasion, ADC said that PM-SYM is avoluntary contributory pension scheme for unorganised workers under whichlabourers working in different sectors get monthly pension of Rs 3000 afterattaining the age of 60 years. He stressed upon concerned officers and officialsto mobilize their field functionaries so that eligible unorganized workers get enrolled under PM-SYM at the earliest.

LEH

Additional Deputy Commissioner Leh Sachin Kumar launched the scheme at Leh by distributing PM-SYM cards to some applicants at DC Conference Hall.

Deputy Director Employment Tsering Paldan, CMO Leh MotupDorjey, Chief Agriculture Officer Tashi Tsetan, District Manager Common ServiceCentre (CSC) Tsering Angmo, concerned officials, Sarpanchs, nambardars, andvillagers in large number from Leh and nearby villages also witnessed thelaunch programme.
