The Patwaris and Girdawars today continued their pen down strike for the 25th consecutive day and also staged a protest dharna at Deputy Commissioner’s office in Maitra, Ramban.
The strike call is given by All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association demanding enhancement in pay grade, timely DPCs besides other demands.
Scores of Patwaris and Girdawars assembled at DC office, Maitra, and raised slogans against the state government for ignoring their demands.
The speakers said that they were assured by the concerned authorities that the demands would be fulfilled but nothing has been done which has forced them to launch an agitation.
District president, All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association Ramban, apologized for the inconvenience caused to the people due to the strike. He blamed state government for the problems being faced by the people due to strike.
