Jammu and Kashmir police Saturday claimed to have arrested a man for “unlawful activities” under Public Safety Act (PSA), here in Ramban.
Station house officer, Banihal, Aijaz Wani, told Greater Kashmir: “A habitual narcotic smuggler and history-sheeter, identified as Bahar Ahmed Dar, was booked on Saturday under the Public Safety Act. He is an accused in six different FIRs.”
“Dar is also on the forefront of anti-national activities and often leads anti national processions, rallies and protests in Banihal town,” the officer said.
“Dar has not deterred for criminal activities and thus, slapping PSA on him became essential,” SHO Wani said, adding that police prepared a dossier and submitted it to the district magistrate, who issued the order.
The order was executed by a team from Banihal police station. Dar was arrested and has been lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu, the officer said.
