Ahead of the reopening of strategic Srinagar-Leh highway, authorities on Thursday refuted rumours of any orders to ban civilian traffic movement during convoy movement on this road.
The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Hashmat Ali Khan, while talking to Greater Kashmir said, “Neither have we received any such orders from the government to ban civilian traffic movement during convoy movement nor any such orders have been issued by the district administration.”
He refuted the rumours being circulated on the social media about ban on civilian traffic on Srinagar-Leh highway.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal Khalil Poswal said that strict action will be taken against people spreading rumours on the social media. “Civilian traffic will not be stopped anywhere in the district to allow the convoy movement,” he added.
