J&K achieves 96% coverage in immunisation of children

In a significant achievement regarding immunisation of children in the age group of 0 to 1 years, J&K State has achieved 96% achievement in fully immunised children. Last year’s achievement was 93%.

Directorate of Family Welfare MCH & Immunisationconducted of special immunisation drives and mass campaigns like MeaslesRubella, Mission Indradhanush, National Immunisation Days, Special Immunisationsessions in hard to reach and migratory population of J&K.

   

“Atal Dulloo, Principal Secretary to Govt. Health &Medical Education Department, with his visionary approach has been instrumentalin providing all support to the department which led to such a remarkableachievement,” an official spokesman said.

Dr. Arun Sharma, Director Family Welfare, MCH &Immunisation J&K said that the department is committed in providing bestquality vaccines.

“We have started Cold Chain system in the State and we willcertainly improve our indicators in the next year.”

He felt gratitude towards Chief Medical Officers, DeputyChief Medical Officers, District Immunisation Officers, Block Medical

Officer, thousands of field workers and vaccinators forattaining such results.

Dr. Qazi Haroon, State Immunisation Officer J&K, saidthat success of huge campaigns like MR, MI, NID and strengthening of RoutineImmunisation in the State led to such achievements first time in the State andvery soon new vaccines like Rota Vaccine and PCV will also be launched andintroduced throughout the State.
