Is Anybody Listening? | Non-availability of public transport in Shopian, Kulgam villages

We, the students of Arreh, Nillow, Pariwan, Pombay, Nehama, Chansar, Khandipora, Pardpora, Mohdpora, Okey, Bumbrath, Kakran, and the adjacent village of district Kulgam and Shopian, face a lot of inconvenience due to non-availability of public transport since 2019. We have to travel at least 2-3 km to reach the main stop. We often miss our classes because of the said reason. Some small vehicles are available, but they charge high fares from the students. We now request the concerned authorities to look into the matter and take some steps as soon as possible.

‘Unemployment on surge in Ladakh’

We, the youth of Ladakh, would like to bring our plight into the notice of the administration. A year after the bifurcation of the erstwhile state of J&K, we are witnessing a surge in the unemployment scale. The recruiting board in the newly created Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh have been rendered dysfunctional for a year now, and no new job placements are taking place. The administration has stopped issuing the posts at both UT and district level, while the authorities have authorised the private recruiting agencies for a few posts. Earlier the councils (LAHDC) of both the districts would recruit on the district level with framed recruitment board, while the DSSRB advertised the rest of the posts. We request the administration to take a serious note of the situation so as to save the future of our youth.

Address grievance of Doabgah, Rafiabad residents

We, the members of civil society, Doabgah, Rafiabad, on behalf of the people of the village, would like bring into the notice of higher authorities that ten years ago, work was started on bridge between Doabgah and Darapora, Delina. But unfortunately the work had been stopped after a while by the JKPCC because of the shortage of funds. Now we request Lt Governor to kindly look into the matter and do the needful. It is long pending demand of people of the area as it will connect Rafiabad with District Headquarters Baramulla. Moreover farmers can carry their products to nearest fruit mandi in a hassle free manner.

In addition to this, the people of Doabgah, Alsafa colony, Vijabal are without primary health centre. Building has been made by housing board but that has not been completed due to shortage of funds. This has caused a lot of inconvenience to a large section of population in the area.

Also, the higher secondary school, Dobabagh is without proper fencing from all sides even as one stream passes through the previous of the school. Three children have drowned in this stream in last four year. We request the honourable LG to look into the matter and redress our genuine demands on priority basis.
