A biker with two pillion riders including a woman and her daughter died when it was hit by a matador at Kattal Gujrian, Sherpura area of Hirnagar town in Kathua district on Sunday, a police official said.
The deceased have been identified as Ram Dass Sangra (51) son of Narsingh Dayal of Kootah, Anita Devi (40) wife of Sanjay Kumar of Jootah and her daughter Pallavi Devi (8).
The police official said the accident took place when the “rashly driven minibus (JK02S-6875) hit the motorcycle (JK08C-8974) at Kattal Gujjrian, Sherpura area of the Hiaranagar town”.
The biker and the two pillion riders died on the spot, police said.
The bodies of the deceased have been shifted to the mortuary of the district hospital, while a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered against the driver Ashok Kumar son of Sardar Chand of Nai Basti Jandi, Hiranagar, Kathua.
Police claimed to have arrested the driver.
