The department of commerce, university of Jammu in collaboration with SBI Life Insurance, on Monday organised an awareness program on life insurance in the seminar hall of PG department of commerce.
As per the release, the program was initiated to create awareness about insurance and its importance among the faculty, scholars and students.
The program was conducted by the SBI Life Insurance officials including BR Sharma, Siddharth and Gian Chand who in a detailed and illustrative manner highlighted the objectives, functioning, role and importance of insurance in risk transfer and compensation of loss.
BR Sharma highlighted various phases of human life cycle and different policies suited for each stage like family’s protection, child’s future, savings, wealth creation and retirement. He stressed that life insurance provides an infusion of cash for dealing with the adverse financial consequences of the insured’s death.
He also differentiated between the savings and investments needs of an individual. He deliberated on the Do’s and Don’ts while taking an insurance policy.
The programme was attended by the faculty, staff, research scholars, M.Com, PGDBRM and PGDA&F students.
