,Rigzin Spalbar, Congress candidate for Ladakh Lok Sabha seat Thursday demanded “public apology” from Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, BJP candidate, over the “baseless allegations” he had levelled against the former way back in 2014.
Namgyal had levelled serious allegations of corruption in organising Kalachakra, a Buddhist religious event, at Leh in 2014. Spalbar was then the member of organising committee.
Spalbar in a statement said that it was “extremely shameful” for Namgyal, the BJP’s MP candidate, “to admit that the allegations he had levelled against him were wrong.
“He made this confession before the Ladakh Buddhist Association, Ladakh Gompa Association and Kalachakra Organising Committee at a meeting at Leh, which was headed by Thiksay Khanpo Rinpoche on 28 April 2019,” the statement said.
However he added that this confession was not sufficient. “Namgyal should seek apology from public of Ladakh,” he said.
