Expedite work on construction of bunkers: Div Com Jammu to DCs

Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma Tuesday directed the executing agencies and Deputy Commissioners to set weekly/monthly targets and expedite the pace on construction of individual and community bunkers.

Verma issued these directions while chairing a meeting withDeputy Commissioners of border districts to review progress on construction ofbunkers along international border in Jammu.

   

The meeting was attended by senior officers of executingagencies while Deputy Commissioners of Kathua, Samba, Rajouri and Poonch, alongwith engineers of PWD and RDD attended the meeting through video conferencing.

The Deputy Commissioners apprised the DivisionalCommissioner of the progress of works on under construction individual andcommunity bunkers in their respective districts.

The DCs informed that there are some disputed sites which ishampering work in some areas. The DC Samba informed that 902 bunkers have beencompleted so far in the district while the remaining bunkers are in differentstages of construction.

The DC Kathua informed that 928 bunkers have been completedin the district while 107 are in different stages of construction.

DC Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch also informed about the number ofbunkers completed so far and number of bunkers at foundation level,superstructure level, and slap level.

The Divisional Commissioner sought details of supply andavailability of construction material in all the districts.

He also directed the DCs for effective monitoring ofconstruction of bunkers for quality and timely completion of these vital works.
