NC minority cell opens election office in Jammu

Inauguratingthe NC minority cell election office, senior National Conference leaders, VijayBakaya and Rattan Lal Gupta have called for a decisive mandate for the unifyingforces to counter politics of hate and divide, saying that the spirit ofinclusiveness alone can steer Jammu and Kashmir out of the prevailing morassand political instability.

The twoleaders inaugurated the election office at BC Road, near Jewel Chowk here tofacilitate the migrant voters fulfill all the requisite formalities like M-Formfor casting their votes. The minority cell functionaries will provide theassistance to such voters.

   

The chiefpatron of the minority cell and the former MLC, Vijay Bakaya exhorted thepeople to stand guard against sinister moves being perpetrated by forcesinimical to the uniqueness of Kashmiriyat and strengthen the bonds of amity andbrotherhood.

He hoped thedisplaced people will come forward in a big way and endorse their commitment tosafeguarding singular entity of the State and ending the era of politicaluncertainty. He urged the voters to come in a big way and cast their votes infavour of the National Conference candidates, Dr Farooq Abdullah, Justice (Retd)Husnain Masoodi and Mohammed Akbar Lone respectively from Srinagar, Anantnagand Baramulla Lok Sabha constituencies.

“Vote toNational Conference candidates would be support to the policies and programmesof National Conference that stands for amity, brotherhood and equalopportunities to all, irrespective of caste, creed or colour”, Bakaya added.

Speaking onthe occasion, State secretary and former MLC, Rattan Lal Gupta cautionedagainst the attempts being made to divide people, generate mistrust and hatebetween various segments of society and to exploit religious sentiments.

Gupta blamedthe PDP and BJP for pushing Jammu and Kashmir into unprecedented politicalcrisis after failing in deliverance. He said the nightmarish coalitiongovernment of the two opportunistic parties inflicted lot of miseries to thepeople during over three years of misgovernance. He said development came togrinding halt and implementation of various welfare schemes were hugelyimpacted.

Prominentamong those present on the occasion included corporator S Sucha Singh, JatinBhat, Abhay Bakaya, Dr Amina, Reitesh Koul, Mohider Singh, Raju, Sahil, PLTalashi, Pinki Bhat and others.
