House damaged in ceasefire violation

A residential house was damaged in a village along the Line of Control (LoC) after Pakistani troops resorted to shelling in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday, police said.

An official said Pakistani troops targeted posts on thisside in Churanda village of Uri this afternoon. The troops retaliatedimmediately and during the exchange of firing, a residential house belonging toAli Muhammad, resident of Churanda, suffered damage, said the official.

   

The exchange of firing continued for several hours, leadingto panic in several village along the LoC.
