Scores of need-based workers from Handwara division of power development department held protest here against the department on Thursday.
The workers assembled here at press colony amid slogansagainst department alleging that they were being shown doors after putting indecades of work.
“We are around 400 workers who have worked forthe department for over a decade. The department has made a new list of 146workers in which some new recruits are being included without any propermechanism while around 300 of us have been shown door,” said Mumtaz, one of theworker.
“We won’t accept this fake list, this is injustice to us andour families,” he said.
The protesting workers appealed the governor to intervene inthe matter.
