Shift all families to safer locations: Lone

National Conference MP from Barammula, Muhammad Akbar Lone on Tuesday expressed concern over losses to property of people in Chandoosa village of Baramulla following landslides triggered by rains.

Lone while expressing solidarity with the affected said manyresidential houses, cowsheds have got damaged owing to the landslide.

   

“The families are still staying put in the area which putstheir lives in danger. I urge the government to shift the families to saferplaces until the entire area is not visited by geology and mining officials andother district officials for necessary evaluation,” said Lone.

He said the affected families should be provided with freeration and fodder for cattle for some months. He said the district administration should depute revenue teams toaccess the losses incurred by the families at an earliest.

“I urge the government to give monetary help to the affectedfamilies to help them run their household chores,” Lone said.

The party’s district President Baramulla, Javaid Ahmad Daralso urged the administration to come to the rescue of affected people.  He expressed solidarity with the families.
