Summer School on climate change, biodiversity starts at KU

Two-week long summer school on climate change and biodiversity started here at University of Kashmir on Monday. The summer school which was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir Prof Talat Ahmad is being organized by Bangalore based research institute and think-tank ATREE in collaboration with the University of Kashmir.

Presiding over the inaugural session of the program, ProfTalat said “Climate change is a reality that we are facing today and it has tobe tackled on a mass level. Such programs would go a long way in educatingyoung minds on the efforts to be taken in this regard.”

   

Meanwhile,  a six-daytraining programme cum workshop on adolescent issues commenced at KashmirUniversity (KU) from today. The programme conducted under Directorate ofSamagraShiksha was held in collaboration with Social Welfare Department andKashmir University.

Around 60 participants from four districts (1st batch) fromteaching fraternity of School Education Department attended the workshop. Itwill be followed by other two batches of 60 trainees each from 8 districts ofKashmir and Ladakh.
