The students of Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar bagged overall championship in the District Junior Ball Badminton Championship, held on May 22 and 23 at Sheri- Kashmir Indoor Stadium here .
In the event DPS Srinagar bagged 28 gold medals. All 28students from the school who participated in the championship secured goldmedals.
Around 300 players drawn from various schools of the valleyparticipated and it was organized by J&K Ball Badminton Association.Moreover, out of a total of twenty players selected for representing the Statein the nationals, fourteen are from the school itself. The nationals will beheld in Manipur in June 2019, a statement said.
Congratulating the students on this rich haul, the PrincipalAlistair R.A Freese said, “It is hardly surprising to see the students performso well. I am proud that the students have added another chapter to upholdingthe glory of the school.”
Chairman Vijay Dhar has also congratulated the winners, andsaid “The school aims to be a powerhouse of the best talent available in thevalley. The clean sweep is a proof of the work we put behind the curtains inenhancing the talents of our students.”
