Hundreds of youth Friday registered themselves at Voluntary Recruitment Camp organised by Youth Awami Action Committee (AAC) at Jamia Masjid here to voluntarily protect senior separatist Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
In a statement AAC Youth President Mushtaq Sufi while lauding the enthusiasm of youth said it was a welcome development that hundreds of youth are coming forward to voluntarily guard Mirwaiz.
He said registration process has been temporality suspended as thousands of youth have already registered with the Committee. “If need arises the process will be restarted,” said Sufi. After the Lethpora attack on CRPF convoy the government withdrew security of all separatist leaders.
