A book on Kashmiri poetic collection Humsoas was released here today.

The book is a collection of poetic works by late Abdul Gani Nadeem, a Kashmir based poet, translator and critic. The book is compiled by his son Sami-Ullah Qazi.

The book release function was attended by various poets including Bashir Arif, Ai Shaidi, Zareef Ahmad Zareef, Hasrat Gadda and Abdul Ahad Farhad.

Farooq Nazki was the special guest on the occasion. He recited some of Nadeem’s writings from Hamsoas.

In his address, Hasrat Gadda said, “Nadeem was a modest poet, he never differentiated between family and friends. He always treated everyone with the same respect and affection”. “It is as an honor to see Nadeem’s son release a book on his writings,” he said.

“I compiled his work in order to pay him tributes as a son and to make sure that his poetry spreads and stays alive among us”, said Qazi.

Nadeem was born on 18th April 1940 in a noted business family of ‘Abdul Aziz Bros’ at Bahaudin Saheb Nowhatta here. “Nadeem began his career as a research assistant in the Jammu Kashmir Academy of art, culture and languages in 1967. He was associated briefly with the progressive writers association,” the organizers said in a statement.
