MANUU students protest delay in exam

The Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) students Thursday protested at the satellite campus Humhama here against the delay in B Ed semester exams.

The protest was held by the B Ed students of first and thirdsemester who accused the varsity administration of playing with their careers.”The university management has failed to streamline the academic planner at thecampus,” they said.

   

Demanding completion of their semesters in a time-boundmanner, the students said each semester should be completed within six months.

“The first semester students were enrolled in the universityin August and by February we should have completed our exams and started classesfor 2nd semester,” said a student.

“We are ready to appear in exams of two (first and second)semesters simultaneously but the university management should issue examnotification,” the student said.

According to the students, the batch of 3rd semesterstudents started their course in 2018 and by now they should have been in 4thsemester. “The 3rd semester exams were supposed to be held in December. But, weare still stuck in 3rd semester,” another student said.

“We are worried that our course should not extend to morethan two years. It will prove detrimental for us,” the student said.

Principal, B Ed College, Tariq Ahmad Masoodi said they couldnot conduct the exams in December due to non-completion of teaching days.

“No university could conduct exams in December because ofthe situation that prevailed in Kashmir post August. Also, students didn’t getenough working days. But we have sent a proposal to the University headquartersin Hyderabad and are expecting its approval very soon,” Masoodi said.
