Middle School Gagribal takes a lead in enrollment drive

Where there is a will there’s a way. The staff and the headmaster of the Government Boys Middle School Gagribal are inspired by this verse and they never look back until they accomplish their mission. They have proved their dedication in the ongoing enrollment drive carried by the school education department.

They work like a team and that is how they have made Gagribal middle school a centre of attraction for many people around.

Government middle school Gagribal is a model school. The institution is operating from a rented accommodation hired from the Custodian Department. Unexpectedly, it looks like a high end private school. At the first look, the school impresses a visitor for having a proper, very well demarcated parking space. The school has a soothing appearance which has a pleasant effect on a visitor, once he steps in. The students at this school are provided proper toilet facilities and drinking water facilities besides the quality education as well.

The school is different from other institutions given its discipline among the staff, schoolchildren and having a proper academic culture at the institution. The staff of this institution believes in-Unity is strength. That is how they accomplish their target as a team not as individuals.

During the ongoing enrollment drive, Srinagar district has hit the bottom given its poor performance in registering new admission of students in government schools. Amid all this, Middle school Gagribal has taken a lead and has registered 65 new admissions in the school. The school last week organized a function to welcome the new entrants in the institution. In his address, the headmaster of the institution did not only spoke about the facilities provided to the students free of cost but also spoke about the dedication and the team work showcased by the staff of the school to provide a positive atmosphere to the students of the institution.

“I was posted here in June 2014 and with the support of my school team, I tried to take this school toward betterment,” headmaster Khursheed Ahmad Rather said. “By one or the other means, we tried to revamp this building after the 2014 floods and made it look like a school,” he said.

After joining in 2014 the enrollment of the institution was only 40. It later increased to 131 in 2017. “But in May 2017 I was transferred from here and posted in old city Srinagar,” he said. Three years later Rather was transferred back to the same institution and the enrolment had gone down to 85.

“With all the support from my staff, we tried to increase the enrollment to 181 till October this year. Now, from the new academic session 2021-2022, the enrollment has increased to 205 with the registration of new 65 admissions,” he said.

The school has a properly maintained playground for the students, giving an opportunity to them for their extra-curricular activities. The academic standards and other basic facilities provided to the students in this school are impressive as well.
