Srinagar, July 18: A gunfight broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Surankote area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, Army said.
Based on a specific intelligence input, a joint Cordon and Search Operation was launched in Sindarah and Maidana near Surankote Poonch by troops of Indian Army and SOG of Police.
“Contact established. Intense firefight ongoing, area cordoned, operations in progress,” army said on Twitter, as per news agency GNS.
