JKCA Clubs vow to challenge ‘unconstitutional’ steps of CoA, CEO

J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) clubs have vowed to challenge the “unconstitutional” move of the Committee of Administrators (CoA) and the Chief Executive Officer JKCA in the Supreme Court.

The JKCA members held an extraordinary general body meetingin Jammu on Wednesday to discuss the “de-affiliation of the clubs in the newlyadopted constitution of cricket body”.

   

The meeting was attended by members from affiliated clubs ofthe JKCA.

In the meeting it was noted by the members of JKCA that theproposed constitution by the genuine members of the society was submitted toJKCA CEO for circulation among the affiliated members, “but instead a newconstitution proposed and prepared was submitted for registration”.

“The CoA and CEO appointed by the court to settle thedisputes among various clubs thereby streamline the sports body in J&K twoyears back, have illegally registered new constitution through Registrar of theSocieties. It is unconstitutional move by them as they can’t delete the base ofthe JKCA, in this case its clubs,” former general secretary and senior mostmember of the JKCA, ML Nehru was quoted as saying.

Later, the members resolved to approach the Supreme Court ofIndia and the High Court of J&K in this regard.

The meeting was also addressed by another senior member, DrAshutosh Sharma.

Prominent among others, the meeting was attended by IqbalShah, former general secretary JKCA and members Sham Swaroop Kalsotra andShiban Lal Trakroo. The representatives of the Clubs from both Kashmir andJammu were present in the meeting.
