Div Com inaugurates divisional level programme

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K Pole Tuesday inaugurated divisional level training programme to combat COVID19 and mitigation operations across Kashmir, at Disaster Relief Force, (DRF) Headquarters here.

More than 2,500 COVID19 warriors belonging to SDRF, YouthServices and Sports, Civil Defence, Home Guards, Red Cross volunteers and NGOpersons will be trained under the programme, at Block levels in more than 250batches, by a trained team of Community Process (ASHA) trainers in differentdistricts for COVID-19 preparedness, management and mitigation.

   

Pole said the aim of thetraining was to inculcate basic principles of COVID19 preparedness, managementand mitigation among the trainees besides to augment the teams which wereworking in each district to ensure supply of essential commodities tohouseholds, screening and management at red zones, basics about signs andsymptoms of COVID19, types of diagnostic tests, community surveillance,screening, tackling stigma, home quarantine protocol, personal safety,enforcing lockdown and other operations.

He said the important responsibility has been placed on theshoulders of trainees, as it was a collective effort which will pull throughthe society from current situation.

Later, Officer Special Duty (OSD) Health & MedicalEducation, Dr Owais Ahmad said the programme will further enhance capabilitiesof trainees to tackle the challenge of COVID19 pandemic.
