Biker killed, 2 pillion riders injured in Handwara road accident

Handwara, June 11: A biker died and two pillion riders were critically injured after the two-wheeler they were riding collided head on at Thokerpora Kralgund area of Handwara on Friday.

An official said that the accident occured after a motorcycle bearing registration number JK-01B 2774 and a load carrier bearing registration number JK05J-8445 collided head on in Takherpora Kralgund, resulting in on the spot death of a youth while two pillion riders received serious injuries.

   

The trio was immediately evacuated to a nearby health centre at Kralgund but the doctors present there declared one Jazaib Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat of Langate as brought dead.

The other two injured after primary treatment were referred to District Hospital Handwara for advanced treatment.

However, the doctors sensing the critical condition referred one among them to Srinagar for specialised treatment.

The injured have been identified as Aamir Ahmad Bhat, son of Ali Muhammed Bhat of Safalpora and Junaid Ramzan Ganaie, son of Muhammad Ramzan Ganaie of Behrampora Baramulla.
