Petrol price touches 3 digit mark in Rajouri

Rajouri: For the first time in history, the price of petrol touched three digit figure in Rajouri by crossing 100 rupee mark further burdening the masses.

“This is for the first time in history that we are witnessing price of petrol in three digits,” Jagpaul Sharma, a Rajouri resident said terming it a clear example of rising inflation and burden on shoulders of common masses.

   

“Price of petrol products is directly proportional to inflation and one can imagine plight of a common man due to such huge price of petrol,” he said.

A car driver Amit Sharma said that he frequently goes to Jammu for purchase of some business commodities and rise in fuel price is hitting him hard.

“Earlier I used to spend Rs 1500-1600 during the journey from Rajouri to Jammu and vice versa but same is now a costly affair as I have to spend around Rs 2300 on petrol,” Amit added.

Mohammad Saaid, a cab driver appealed Government to immediately control the price of petroleum products. “Drivers, vehicle owners are in a tight spot due to such burden and same is the case with passengers who have to spend almost triple amount to travel on a public transport vehicle,” he further said.
