1 more arrested in Baramulla exfiltration case: Police

Baramulla: Police have arrested one more person in connection with the exfiltration bid on the line of control in Uri sector on July 2.

A police official identified the arrested person as Muhammad Majnoon Sheikh resident of Dudran Boniyar and said that Sheikh was acting as a guide.

   

Police earlier foiled an exfiltration bid in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district after they arrested four persons in the area while trying to cross the line of control.

Among the arrested persons include a guide identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Hajam of Gohalan Uri. While three other persons arrested were identified as Muhammad Shafi Hajam, Riyaz Ahmad Bhat both residents of Sheeri Baramulla and Yasir Bhat of Chatloora Sopore.

“During the questioning of the earlier arrested guide, Parvaiz Ahmad, he disclosed the name of another person who too was acting as guide. Based on his disclosure, the man was arrested from his residence,” police said.
