Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti condemned the killing of five central reserve police force personnel in a militant attack in Lethpora area of Pulwama district on Sunday.
In a statement, Mehbooba termed the attack as “dastardly” and said that violence has taken a heavy toll of the society in terms of deaths and destruction, “tearing apart the social fabric, inflicting massive economic, academic and social losses, besides causing the irreparable loss of human lives.”
“The Chief Minister paid rich tributes to the slain CRPF personnel and conveyed her sympathies to the bereaved families,” the statement read.
Deputy chief minister Nirmal Singh also expressed grief and sorrow over the killing of five CRPF personnel in the Lehtpora militant attack, an official spokesman said.
He also prayed for early recovery of CRPF men who have suffered bullet injuries in the attack.
“The deputy CM while condemning the attack said that it is a despicable act which needs to be condemned by every section of the society,” the spokesman said.
Nirmal expressed his solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.
