Mehbooba unveils Hari Singh’s statue

The winter capital today got another statue of Maharaja Hari Singh and it was unveiled by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. 

The occasion was the inauguration of a newly developed park on Tawi banks. 

   

Spread over 43 kanals of land, the park has been developed at a cost of Rs 4.72 crore and the main features of the project comprise aesthetically laid walking tracks, open air gym besides beautiful rose garden. The park also has a coffee house and a library.

Mehbooba Mufti went around in the park and took keen interest in the details. She directed officials to undertake plantation drive on the river front to enhance the green cover in the area.

The Chief Minister asked Deputy CM Nirmal Singh, who also holds the charge of Housing & Urban Development Department, to identify more spaces in the city that can be developed into parks and green spaces for the convenience of people.
