SKIMS doctor attached over ‘infuriating’ comments

The Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences has attached a doctor for allegedly posting infuriating comments on social media and recommended registration of FIR against him. An order issued by SKIMS director, Prof Omar Javaid Shah, reads that on the basis of facts of the case and recommendations of a committee, Dr Amit Kumar, DM student cardiology department, is attached to the office of registrar (academics) with immediate effect.

“FIR be lodged against the doctor to investigate the matter further,” reads the order. Head of cardiology department had reported that Dr Kumar had allegedly posted infuriated comments on social media, the order says.

   

The RDA (Residents Doctors Association) SKIMS had made a representation on February 16 on this account, it reads.

“The administration took immediate cognisance of the matter and accordingly a committee comprising senior faculty members was constituted. The committee submitted its report wherein it has established that the said doctor has made infuriating comments on Facebook,” reads the order.
