‘There is no party called as PDP, it has merged into BJP’

Former Chief Minister and leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad, today said the PDP has merged into the BJP and it is there only for the sake of name.

“The PDP was finished the day it aligned with the BJP and betrayed the mandate of the people,” Azad said adding, “Now we just have the name as BJP-PDP (coalition government). PDP is nowhere as it has completely merged into BJP long back,” Azad said.

While responding to a question during a press conference here that PDP advocates for talks with Pakistan while its coalition partner BJP says no, Azad mocked, “Where is PDP? It is there just for the sake of name, it was finished the day it aligned with the BJP.”

“There is no party called as PDP, it is just the name. The PDP got votes on something else and the day it broke its promise it was finished.”  “Each party gets mandate on a particular issue and the day it changes its track after coming to power, it loses the mandate and confidence of the people,” Azad said.
