Samba-Goran road awaits blacktopping, repair work

Samba to Goran road via Sumb block has been awaiting blacktopping, widening, and repair work for the past several years.

Ajay Singh of Samba district said that a population of over 32,000 is facing hardships due to the shabby condition of the road from Samba to Goran via Sumb block that connects around 25 villages.

“This road also links a prominent religious place (Devasthan) where 2 to 3 lakh devotees visit every month yet the authorities concerned are least bothered to blacktop the road and repair it,” he said.

Singh said hundreds of people were suffering due to the dilapidated condition of the road for the last several years.

“Despite several representations, blacktopping and repair of the road has not been done, causing inconvenience to the locals as well as visitors to this place,” he said. “The work on the road was funded under the Central Road Funds for widening and other related work, but it could not be completed till date.”
