Srinagar: National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah Sunday led party functionaries in offering Fateha prayers at the grave of Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah at Hazratbal on his 116th birth anniversary.
A statement of NC issued here said that the duo reached Hazratbal earlier in the morning and led scores of party functionaries in offering floral tributes and Fateha at the NC founder’s grave.
It said that a Majlis of Quran Khawani and Durood-o-Azkar was also held at the grave where party functionaries, delegates, and workers prayed for eternal peace to Abdullah’s soul.
The NC statement said that on the occasion, NC President Farooq Abdullah while addressing a convention of Youth National Conference (YNC) workers exhorted them to work shoulder-to-shoulder with the parent wing and take the party programme to every nook and corner of Kashmir.
He thanked the party and YNC Kashmir functionaries for putting on a show despite incessant rains.
The YNC convention was organised by YNC Provincial President Salman Sagar.
Meanwhile, NC General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar expressed gratitude to the scores of functionaries, delegates, and workers and YNC and NC Women’s Wing functionaries for making it a point to be present on the occasion despite inclement weather.
NC Additional General Secretary Mustafa Kamal and Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani were also present on the occasion.
